Sarah died in Kiriath-arba now Hebron in the land of Canaan; and Abraham proceeded to mourn for Sarah and to bewail her.
Sarah’s death occurred when she heard from Satan, who had disguised himself as an old man riding a camel, that Avraham had taken Yitzchak to be slaughtered.
She banged her head on the wall in distress and sent her servants to the academy of Shem and Ever to verify the “old man’s” story.
She then went to Chevron and found the 3 giants Achiman, Shesai and Talmai who told her they had indeed seen an old man and a young man climbing a mountain with a large knife.
However, the clouds came and obstructed their vision and weren’t able to see anything more.
Satan then appeared again and told her not to believe the first “old man.”
She was so elated from this great news, that she went into shock and died. (Sefer Hayashar)
