Rabbi Eytan Yehudah Dzikowski
Abraham was now old, advanced in years, and the LORD had blessed Abraham in all things.
Avraham merited 10 blessings as a result of the Akeidah.
Hashem promised not to test him again.
Starting with Avraham, people began to show signs of aging. Until then, young and old looked the same.
Avraham had a daughter named Bakol. This allowed Avraham to fulfill the mitzva of having children, which requires one to have at least one son and one daughter.
Avraham gained full control over his evil inclination.
Ishmael repented in Avraham’s lifetime.
Hashem deducted 5 years from Avraham’s life so that he would not see his grandson Esav’s evil ways. Hence, Avraham lived 175 years while Yitzchak lived 180 years.
Along with Yitzchak and Yaakov, Avraham was one of only 3 people who experienced the World to Come during their lifetime.
Although his expenses were huge and he was getting older, Avraham’s wealth kept growing.
Avraham was one of only 6 people whom the Angel of Death had no power over, along with Yitzchak, Yaakov, Moshe, Aaron and Miriam.
Avraham was one of only 7 righteous people whose bodies didn’t decay, along with Yitzchak, Yaakov, Moshe, Aaron, Miriam, and Binyamin. Some say King David too. (Meam Loez)
