Make a Dedication

Rabbi Eytan Yehudah Dzikowski
How were the letters inscribed on the Luchot ?
Thereupon Moses turned and went down from the mountain bearing the two tablets of the Pact, tablets inscribed on both their surfaces: they were inscribed on the one side and on the other.
The writing on the Luchot appeared the same way on both sides despite the fact that the letters were inscribed right through the stone.
So too, the letters Samech and Mem remained suspended in mid-air.
(Shabbat 104a, Ohr Hachaim)
