Did you know...?
Ch.45, vs.26
What role did Serach have now and later in the days of Iyov?
And they told him, “Joseph is still alive; yes, he is ruler over the whole land of Egypt.” His heart went numb, for he did not believe them.
Serach, the daughter of Asher, was the one chosen to announce the good news that Yosef was alive. She did so by playing her harp and gently singing the words to Yaakov.
Serach merited to live for many centuries and to enter Gan Eden alive in the merit of her having told Yaakov that Yosef was alive.
She was also the one who would later save the inhabitants of the city of Abel from death, in the days of Yoav.
(Pirkei deRabbi Eliezer, Targum Yonathan)
