Make a Dedication

Rabbi Eytan Yehudah Dzikowski
What daily halachot are learnt from this verse?
כִּ֛י שֵׁ֥ם ה' אֶקְרָ֑א הָב֥וּ גֹ֖דֶל לֵא-לֹהֵֽינוּ׃
For the name of the LORD I proclaim; Give glory to our God!
From here the Talmud learns that one should recite a blessing before studying Torah.
This verse is also the source for the call of “Barchu”, in the morning and evening prayers.
Lastly, this verse is the source for requiring a “zimun”, after a meal in which three people participated.
(Berachot 21a, Yalkut Shimoni, Berachot 45a)
