Why wasn’t the tribe of Dan protected by the clouds like all other tribes?
Tell the Israelites to turn back and encamp before Pi-hahirot, between Migdol and the sea, before Baal-zephon; you shall encamp facing it, by the sea.
The tribe of Dan was the lowliest of the tribes.
They took an idol, the pessel michah, along with them, when they left Egypt.
Because of this, the Clouds of Glory did not protect them, which was why the Amalekites were able to attack them.
