What were the Jews busy with as the Egyptians caught up with them?
The Egyptians gave chase to them, and all the chariot horses of Pharaoh, his horsemen, and his warriors overtook them encamped by the sea, near Pi-hahirot, before Baal-zephon.
The Egyptians chased after the Jewish people and reached them, as they were encamped by the sea.
They were gathering precious stones that had washed up ashore, after having travelled from the Garden of Eden along several rivers.
