How did Mosh test Yitro’s sincerity?
Moshe went out to meet his father-in-law; he bowed low and kissed him; each asked after the other’s welfare, and they went into the tent.
Moshe tested Yitro in a similar manner to the way Avraham tested people who wanted to convert.
Avraham would have the help of a tree to determine if the people’s motives were indeed pure.
So too, Moshe had the help of the Clouds of Glory to determine that Yitro was sincere.
