Did the executed person’s family sit a regular Shiva?
He who fatally strikes a man shall be put to death.
The relatives of a person who was executed by the court would not sit shiva or observe any of the other mourning customs.
So too, the judges, as well as the executed person’s family members, were not allowed to eat on the day of the execution.
